ASCET User Training

The objective of this 3-day workshop is to gain a working knowledge of ASCET, to enable the user to model and simulate an embedded control system.

The ASCET User Training workshop consists of the following topics:

  • The concept of ASCET and its central role in the automotive embedded control system development cycle.
  • Building control functions with graphical (block diagrams), textual (C code or ASCET’s own embedded systems language, ESDL), and state-machine specifications.
  • Creating reusable and/or target-independent control functions.
  • Simulating and debugging control algorithms in an experiment environment.
  • Associating a target-independent model to a specific microcontroller target.
  • Assigning control processes to operating system tasks (e.g. timers and interrupts).
  • Generating production-intent ANSI C code automatically from an ASCET model.

Price per Student: $2,304.00.

INTECRIO User Training

A 1-day training class for anyone who wants to learn Rapid Prototyping in a real time environment.

INTECRIO User Training
Please contact us for available dates

INTECRIO User Training

The objective of this one-day class is to equip the attendee with the knowledge necessary to experiment with ASCET and/or Simulink embedded control system models quickly (i.e. Rapid Prototyping) in a real time environment in the vehicle or on the test bench using INTECRIO. The workshop format is a combination of formal presentations combined with “hands-on” work sessions. The INTECRIO User Training workshop consists of the following topics:

  • Attendee will learn the structure of INTECRIO and the interface to supported modeling tools
  • Using examples from Simulink and ASCET models, attendee will perform the necessary adaptations and import these models into INTECRIO.
  • Attendee will learn how to configure and integrate the models in the INTECRIO environment.
  • In addition to the software systems, attendee will build a hardware configuration and connect it to the model being tested.
  • Attendee will learn the steps to build an executable prototype and use it within the INTECRIO experiment environment.
  • Attendee will become briefly acquainted with the various hardware interfaces such as ETK Bypass.

Cost: Price per Student: $768.00
Prerequisite: General PC knowledge, ASCET and/or Simulink knowledge

RTA-OSEK User Training

A 2-day training class for engineers who want to develop OSEK-based real-time systems.

RTA-OSEK User Training
Please contact us for available dates

RTA-OSEK User Training is a 2-day training class for engineers who want to develop OSEK-based real-time systems. The course teaches real-time system engineering as a design-based activity, taking participants through the theory before putting this into practice with hands-on examples. Participants should have some basic knowledge in embedded software as well as the C programming language. No previous experience with operating systems is required.

Contents:

  • Introduction to the OSEK standards and features of the OSEK Operating System. Learn about the different task and interrupt models, how tasks and interrupts are scheduled for run-time behavior, and how deadlock and priority inversion are managed in the OSEK OS.
  • Introduction to the RTA product family. Learn about the key components of the offline tools and for what they are used. See how RTA products are used to develop a real-time system and how properties of the system can be verified before a single line of code is written.
  • Learn what real-time means from the operating system perspective, and how real-time behavior can be proven for preemptive systems using deadline monotonic analysis. From this theoretical basis, we take you through modeling real-time behavior in the RTA Planner tool as the first part of real-time system design.
  • Learn how to configure an OSEK OS using the RTA Builder as configuration tool. Understand the key features of tasks and interrupt service routines (ISRs), how they can access shared data safely and communicate at run-time. See how to configure the OS for periodic and aperiodic task activation.
  • Understand how to use RTA’s schedulability analysis to fix timing problems with applications and how to investigate potential application expansion possibilities with sensitivity analysis. Learn how to use the automatic stack space reduction tool.
  • Learn how to debug OSEK OS-based applications and how to validate real-time design models with run-time information using RTA-TRACE.
