Dr. Thomas Irawan appointed new Chairman of the Board of Management of ETAS GmbH

Dr. Thomas Irawan (44) will take over as Chairman of the Board of Management of ETAS GmbH on October 1, 2022. He will be responsible for corporate strategy, engineering, and global marketing. Irawan succeeds Christoph Hartung, who will assume a new management role as President of the “Cross-Domain Computing Solutions” software and systems division at Bosch effective the same date.

Irawan joined Bosch in 2006. Since 2018, he has headed the Driver Experience business unit for assisted, automated, and connected driving in Leonberg.

“Dr. Thomas Irawan provides a broad experience in complex system, software, hardware, and service business in the driver assistance domain, making him the ideal fit,” says Dr. Mathias Pillin, Bosch Mobility Sector Head of Technology.

After studying physics and computer science, followed by a doctorate in physics, he began his career at Bosch in Blaichach/Immenstadt, initially as a Manufacturing Engineer, Project Manager, and Senior Manager Process Development, subsequently as Director Manufacturing Engineering and Operations. This was followed by positions as Technical Plant Manager at Bosch Thailand and Senior Vice President Quality Management in the Chassis Systems Control division of Robert Bosch GmbH, Abstatt.
