Reprogramming ECU flash memory using XCP on Ethernet

In addition to using the XCP protocol on Ethernet for ECU measurement and calibration, INCA now allows users to reprogram ECU flash memory using XCP on Ethernet too.

XCP flashing: configurable timeout for PROGRAM_CLEAR command

Before an ECU can be flashed with new code and data, the old content of the flash memory should be erased. For this purpose, XCP provides the PROGRAM_CLEAR command. Since erasing the flash memory may take more time than the timeout limit of 65533 ms defined by XCP, the command provides a specific timeout parameter which is used instead by INCA in the ProF flash sequence.

Optimized support for ECUs with limited emulation RAM

Some microcontrollers do not provide sufficient emulation RAM to store the entire calibration data contained in the working page. Consequently, INCA provides an intelligent mechanism that handles the allocation of emulation RAM automatically according to the calibration labels selected by the user. Usage of available emulation RAM has been improved. Emulation RAM that is no longer required is automatically released. This makes it possible to use the maximum number of calibration labels that fit into the available emulation RAM.

ODX-LINK: World-Wide Harmonized On-Board Diagnostics (WWH-OBD, ISO 27145) now supported

INCA’s ECU diagnostics ODX-LINK add-on now also supports WWH-OBD (World-Wide Harmonized On-Board Diagnostics) in accordance with ISO27145, which applies mainly to MY2014 Euro-VI commercial and heavy-duty vehicles.

All WWH-OBD data can be requested from ECUs, displayed using instruments in the experiment

environment, as well as recorded and stored in MDF files by INCA. On top of this, ODX-LINK’s ODX databases have been updated to support the latest version of the SAE J1979-DA and J2012 DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) list.
